Canada slips in rankings of world’s biggest music markets

For years, Canada and Australia duked it out for fifth and sixth place when it comes the ranking of the world’s music markets. Things, though, have changed according to a recent IFPI Global Music Report.

As of the end of last year, the top 10 music markets are:

  1. US
  2. Japan
  3. UK
  4. Germany
  5. China
  6. France
  7. South Korea
  8. Canada
  9. Brazil
  10. Australia

It’s not that we’ve shrunk as much as it counties like China and South Korea have grown.
