Canadian Company LyricFind Partners with Google
Toronto-based company LyricFind has scored big by partnering with Google. Already the world’s largest lyric licensing service, this will help the privately-owned Canadian company to expand its services further.
LyricFind adds lyrics from over 4000 publishers to Google’s search results and Google Play Music. According to FYI Music News, they “now [provide] licensing for lyrics displayed in Google’s search results as well as in the music app”.
The main force behind creating a legal and global lyric infrastructure for all platform’s, the company’s partnership with Google advances their goal. They collect new royalties for songwriters and rights holders and is advantageous to fans who can engage more easily with lyrics they love.
“By helping to source lyrics for Google’s search results and Google Play Music, LyricFind continues to demonstrate how lyrics data can be integrated into a variety of services for music discovery and monetization”.
As a privately held company, LyricFind does not disclose financials. No terms of the deal were announced.
