Canadian music sales and streaming stats: 07 March 2022

Time for the weekly checkup on the Canadian recorded music industry and how it’s doing in regards to sales and streaming. Let’s start with comparing last week to the same week in 2021.

  • TotaL album sales, -8.0%
  • CD sales, +4.8%
  • Digital album sales, +1.7%
  • Digital track sales, -20.9%
  • Vinyl LPs, -4.4%
  • On demand audio streams, +13.3%

Now here’s the week-to-week numbers.

  • Total album sales, +8.8%
  • CD sales, +16.3%
  • Digital album sales, +4.0%
  • Digital track sales, -3.6%
  • Vinyl LPs, +2.5%
  • On-demand audio streams, +2.1% (2.251 billion streams in the country last week. I think that’s the higest ever.)
