Canadian Rapper Snow Now the Official On-Hold Music for Yahoo!

First, let’s review Snow and his 1992 hit, “Informer.”

Whatever became of this one-hit-wonder?  Simple.  He grew up, got a great gig working for a production company called Jingle Punks and is now creating music for clients like The Voice on NBC.

When Marissa Meyer, the ex-Googler-turned-Yahoo!-CEO, heard the on-hold music being played on Yahoo!’s switchboard, she flipped out.  “It’s garbage!” she screamed at the nearest minion.  “Fix it!”

(Okay, so she was calmer than that. But this way it’s a better story.)

Somehow word got back to Jingle Punks and Snow.  Now when you phone Yahoo!, you’ll hear “You’re on hold, hold on Yahoo, gimme a second while I patch you through . . . The CEO didn’t like da’ hold music, so I wrote this jam for you” See?

(Thanks to Bobby for the tip.)
