Can’t Find a Name for Your Band? Time to Turn to AI

If you’re in a band that can’t settle on a name, see if you can find someone in the US or UK with an Echo and use it to settle on a moniker. Alexa–Echo’s “personality”–can not only play music, order groceries or tell you the weather, but it can now help you name your group.

Built in is the Band Name Generator. All you have to say to Alexa is “Name my band” and she (it?) will offer up some suggestions. If you hear something you don’t like, just say “That sucks” and she’ll (it’ll?) try again. If something good comes up, tell Alexa “Awesome name! Thanks!” and she (it?) will reply “I hope I helped. Your mom said you are very talented. I’m sure she’s right and your band rocks.”

As soon as Amazon makes its Echo AI assistant available in Canada, I’m getting one. I don’t know how I’ll use it, but I know I want one of these things.
