Celebrating South Park’s Renewal with the Show’s Best Musical Parodies
In case you missed it, South Park has been renewed until 2019, which is the best news since Harry Shearer decided to return to The Simpsons. This will bring the show’s lifetime to at least 23 seasons.
Like The Simpsons, there has always been a strong musical component to the show with (a) real-life celebrities lining up to appear as themselves (Robert Smith’s appearance is a classic) and: (b) musicians subject to some serious satire (cf. Randy Marsh’s Lorde confession).
The NME has gone through South Park’s run and collected these 34 priceless moments. My favourite? When Cartman tricked Radiohead’s biggest fan, Scott Tenorman, to eat his own parents. Radiohead themselves are in the episode, of course.
