There is no end to the esoteric design of turntables. Basically, if you can imagine it (and if you have the money) you can build it.

The coolest record player I’ve seen in a while is the MAG-LEV, a turntable with a platter that levitates in mid-air. If and when it comes to market, it’s expected to cost about $1300 USD–which, when you think of it, is a freakin’ bargain when to comes to owning something from the future. (More at TrendinTech.com)
