Check out some pre-fame Beastie Boys on public access TV in 1984

I spent a couple of hours this weekend with a screener of the new Spike Jonze-directed Beastie Boys Story–which, by the way is excellent (it’s due on Apple+ on April 24). My favourite parts of the doc deal with the super-early days of the band.

For example, the film prompted me to track down this clip of a pre-rap Beasties (with Kate Schellenbach on drums) on NYC public access TV.
