Chris Tsangarides, Producer of Tragically Hip’s Fully Completely, Dead at 61

Chances are if you’re into hard rock and metal, you have albums with Chris Tsangarides‘s name listed in the liner notes. In addition to guiding the Tragically Hip through the creation of Fully Completely, he also worked with Anvil, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Thin Lizzy, Helloween and many others.

But his resume was even longer. He worked as a producer, mixer and sound engineer for acts such as Concrete Blonde, Killing Joke, Depeche Mode, the Human League, Sisters of Mercy and even Tom Jones. In addition to the Hip, he also worked with Canada’s Matt Mays and El Torpedo.

Tsangarides dies early today (Sunday, January 7) as pneumonia led to heart failure. He was 61.
