CMW 2012 Wraps Up with The Indie Awards

As the 30th anniversary edition of Canadian Music Week drew to a close, the 12th annual Indie Awards put the final capper on things Saturday night.

The big winners of the night were (to no one’s surprise) The Sheepdogs who picked up four awards, including Group of the Year, Favourite Single of the Year (for “I Don’t Know), Favourite Live Artist and Favourite Rock Artist.

And before they went home, they got to jam with Paul Rogers, best known as the singer from Free, Bad Company and most recently, Queen.

It was also nice to see Treble Charger back on stage.  They played a quick two-song set featuring “Red” and “American Psycho.”  I spoke with Greig Nori and Bill Priddle beforehand and they say that they’re not quite done with this reunion thing just yet.  “Stay tuned for some summer news,” Greig told me.”

  • Paul Rodgers singing "All Right Now" with The Sheepdogs was easily my highlight of CMW.
