Confused About Which Headphones to Buy? This Might Help.

There are hundreds, nay, thousands of headphone choices out there. Which is the best pair for you? Tough question, since everyone’s ears are different and because everyone has a different idea about what “good sound” is. So unless you have the time to spend trying on all kinds of different ‘phones, the only was to research the subject is to depend on reviews.

But there are thousands, millions of headphone reviews out there. Who has the time to go through all of them?

Picky Ear has done an excellent job of parsing through 310,067 different headphone reviews and then creating a Top 31 list of recommendations. They looked through everything from Amazon reviews and expert evaluations to positive social media mentions. In other words, it’s a pretty exhaustive aggregation of reviews. All you really have to do is skip to the Top 10.

I won’t spoil the surprise, but the name of the lowest-ranked headphones rhymes with “meats.” The entire list can be found here.

  • Nice to see that my Grados came in at number 3. I bought a pair about three years ago, and I love them. They deliver a true, clear sound with no distortion. American made too.
