  • Don't get me wrong; I like Jazz, but Molly's version is like a lullaby, I could fall asleep at any moment during that version. I had to turn it off after 33 seconds due to boredom.

  • I don't mind the Molly Ringwald version but i also don't love it. Its just not my taste in music. But to say Jim Kerr would not like it is a bit off the mark. Don't You (Forget About Me) was never a Simple Minds song. A fellow named Keith Forsey ( a drummer, writer, producer) co-wrote it. He offered the song to the lead singer of the Fixx, then to Bryan Ferry and Billy Idol who all rejected it. Simple Mind's label later pressured S.M. to record it and only long after, reluctantly did Jim Kerr agree. To this day J. Kerr has no love for this song although his wallet probably does. It did give the band their only #1 hit in the U.S. … I always think that cover songs done by other singers / bands should do their own original take on a song. Who needs – so to speak a bad photocopy when the original was just fine. If you want to hear / see a bad copy of this song, Billy Idol ( produced by Forsey ) latter did his own version. The song and video (offal) add nothing – better to go back to the Simple Minds original.
