Daft Punk Denied Chance at Big Close Encounters-Style Gig

The US National Park service has no sense of fun.  They denied a request by Daft Punk to be able to perform a show at Devil’s Tower in Wyoming, the site of the famous UFO climax in Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

Daft Punk’s proposal was to install a series of lasers at the base of the tower as part of a show that could have attracted up to 50,000 people.  Hell, it might have actually looked like this.
