Dave Grohl continues to move back into public life by joining Joe Walsh in the James Gang

Dave Grohl has spent the last months grieving over the loss of his best friend, Taylor Hawkins. He’s been mostly out of sight, largely because he’s been getting his head together and because he’s been planning two massive tribute shows, one in London and the other in L.A.

There’s another announcement, too. Before Joe Walsh was in The Eagles, he was in The James Gang. That group is getting back together to perform in something called “One Last Ride” as part of VetsAid, an annual event Joe puts on for US veterans.

The concert is set for November 13 at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio, and features an all-Ohio lineup. Dave is there because he was born in Warren. The Breeders win because they’re based in Dayton. The Black Keys are from nearby Akron. And Nine Inch Nails are from Cleveland. The host of the night will be Drew Carey, and he was born in Cleveland.
