Dave Grohl performs in public for the first time since Taylor Hawkins’ death. And he did it with Paul McCartney.

Dave Grohl has been keeping a low public profile since his best friend and partner in crime, Taylor Hawkins, died back in March. He’s been spotted in public a couple of times, but he’s obviously been grieving, healing, and busy planning the two tribute concerts for Taylor coming up this September.

This weekend, he appeared with his good friend Paul McCartney during Macca’s performance on The Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury. This marked the first time since he’s been on stage since–well, you know. They played several songs together including “Band on the Run.”

But if you need someone to help bring you back to the stage, there’s really no one better than Macca, right?

Here’s some video of his appearance. (Via Sean)

And with Macca just past his 80th birthday (making him the oldest headliner in the history of Glasto), when he calls, you come. Also answering the call was some guy named Bruce.

Here’s a review of the whole performance.
