Death metal…water?

When I think of a death metaller slaking his/her thirst, I imagine them drinking the blood of their vanquished enemies. But sometimes you need to hydrate with something a little less…heavy.

Enter Liquid Death, a canned brand of mountain water that promises to “murder your thirst.”

The guy behind Liquid Death is Mike Cessario, a former creative director at Netflix, just raised US$1.6 million for his tallboy creation. And in case you couldn’t tell, Mike has an affection for punk and metal. In fact, he used to play in a series of such bands. And why water? Because he wants to appeal to the extreme straight edge punk and metal fan.

Liquid Death also wants to position itself as a high-end drink. A 12-pack goes for US$20. And yes, it’s water. A dozen for $20. More here.
