Decemberists, Daft Punk, Guest on The Simpsons (Plus a Review of Previous Guests)

The list of special musical guests on The Simpsons is nearly endless.  (See?)  While Homer et al never age, they music around them always does. 

This past weekend’s episode, “The Day the Earth Stood Cool,” featured appearances from Carrie Brownstein and Fred Armisten from the excellent Portlandia along with the Decemberists and Daft Punk.  Well, almost Daft punk. You’ll see what I mean in the second clip below.
