Departure (the new name for Canadian Music Week) is now accepting applications for artists to play the festival–and there’s a cool, welcome twist.
Canadian Music Week has new owners and a new name: Departure. The event will be headquartered at the X Hotel on the grounds of Exhibition Place and will feature all the good stuff of CMW and more. Read more about it here.
Naturally, there will be a music festival to go along with everything. If you’re an artist (solo or in a band), Departure is now taking applications for spots in showcases and gigs.
Of important note is that Departure is waiving the artist application fees and they are paying honorariums for showcase performers. That’ll show you how much the new owners are committed to supporting and celebrating artists.
