Did you buy Lorde’s new CD? It might not work in your CD player.

Well, that would be a glitch. Lorde fans worldwide claim that their purchase of her new Virgin CD is useless because it won’t play in a CD player.

To be fair, it’s not all CDs. The issue lies with the translucent recyclable version that was sold through Lorde’s website. Older players with older lasers and circuitry can’t pick up the pits that store the zeroes and ones on the disc. The optical sensors get confused. Any attempt to listen is met with complete silence.

@silentchaoticsxo seems like they didn't account for this (: my new lorde transparent CD doesn't work in this stereo! seems like older models with older sensors won't play it. pretty disappointing, i know it was for an aesthetic but at least press it on normal CDs too :/ #lorde #music #cd ♬ What Was That – Lorde

Well, it makes a nice collector’s item. And you can always recycle it.
