Did you notice Liam’s rescue dog during the Oasis shows in Toronto?

There’s been much written about Oasis‘ first two reunion shows in North America, which happened at Rogers Stadium in Toronto on August 24 and 25, so I won’t rehash anything here. But I do want to draw your attention to a dog. His image showed up on the giant video display during “Roll With It.”

There’s a super-wholesome story behind that little guy. His name is Buttons and she was once roaming alone the streets of Thailand. Irishman Niall Harbison is a dedicated dog rescuer in the country and is doing everything he can to keep Thailand’s dogs healthy and, hopefully, find them a forever home. He has hundreds of thousands of social media followers, including my wife.

Buttons, an abandoned puppy dumped in the Thai jungle at age five months “for not being cute enough,” was saved by Niall, nursed back to health, and put up for adoption. Imagine his surprise when one of the people inquiring about Buttons was Our Kid. At first, he thought it was a joke. But nope. It was Liam. He had applied for the adoption through the standard Google form, too. To prove that he was worthy, Liam sent Nial a video of his home, showing where Buttons would live (that’s something all applicants have to do.) After a follow-up interview, Buttons was sent 9,000 km away to his new home.

Liam was besotted with the little girl that Buttons made the videos for the Oasis reunion tour.

Here are a few more shots from the August 25 show.
