Digital Dude Harshes on Radio’s Future

His name is Shelly Palmer and he’s an authority about living and working in a world gone digital.  During a recent keynote address to radio industry people, he opined that music radio has no business to exist anymore.  The effect was like a drunken Ricky Gervais at an Oscar party.

I can’t say that I disagree with a lot of what he says about automobiles and cell phones, but I think he’s a little pessimistic about the future of radio.  Maybe in the US where they’ve managed to really f**k things up.  But in Canada and the UK?  No.  At least not yet.
