Disturbed Ad Pulled After Yesterday’s TV Shootings

A carefully-rehearsed, perfectly timed,  live-on-the-air double murder, calculated for maximum social media effect is beyond sick. That’s what we saw in the US yesterday. It’s been on my mind since the moment it happened. You never know when a weirdo is going to strike.

There have been two reactions to the story so far. The finale of Mr. Robot (a brilliant show that will debut in Canada next week on showcase) was postponed because there’s apparently a scene that’s too close to what happened yesterday in Roanoke, Virginia.

The second reaction is the pulling of an ad–a pre-roll commercial that runs before online videos–for Disturbed new album, Immortalized.   It includes footage from the clip for “The Vengeful One” features some kind creature shooting people at at TV station.

Best pull the ad completely. The right move, obviously.
