Documentary on Fishbone: Everyday Sunshine
If you ask me, Fishbone doesn’t get near the props they deserve. They brought the funk to punk, showing a lot of bands–including the Red Hot Chili Peppers–how it should be done. At the same time, they showed the black community how to slamdance.
This new documentary should help raise their profile to a more fitting level today’s music fans. Hell, they got Laurence Fishburne back from the Matrix to narrate the thing. Guests include Flea, Perry Farrell, Gwen Stefani, Ice-T, Brandford Marsalis, Questlove, Keith Morris and more.
