Dolly Parton enters the metaverse with “Dollyverse”

She might be 76 years old, but Dolly Parton remains one of the most forward-looking artists out there. Not only did she invest heavily in COVID-19 vaccine research. Not only does she have a novel written with James Patterson (Run, Rose, Run) coming shortly, but she’s working with Fox Entertainment’s Blockchain Creative Labs to launch something she called The Dollyverse.

The Dollyverse is a Web 3.0 experience that will debut at SXSW next week. I quote from Variety:

“The ‘Dollyverse’ will release an exclusive selection of official and certified Dolly NFT collectibles, including limited-edition NFTs of the Run, Rose, Run music album and a limited series of Dolly-inspired NFT artwork, for purchase during and after SXSW. In-person attendees at Parton’s performance will be able to claim a free NFT, while fans streaming the event will be able to receive tokens authenticating their participation.”

If you go here, you can watch a trailer for Dolly’s version of the metaverse.
