Drake bets on Argentina but still loses…ONE MILLION DOLLARS

If you’re a follower of Drake’s flaunting of his wealth, you’ll know that along with buying watches, jewelry, cars, and mansions, he also loves a little wager. Obviously, he couldn’t let the World Cup go by without slapping down a few bucks on the final. His pick? Argentina.

Although the Argentinians were panicked when they heard the news (there’s actually something called “The Drake Curse“), Messi and his crew managed to outlast France in what may have been the greatest football game of a generation.

Drake’s wager–US$1 million–was that Argentina would win in the regulation 90 minutes.

Imagine Drake’s mood when deep in the second half, France’s Kylian Mabappé scored two goals in under a minute, tying the game. Off to extra time we go–and you know what eventually happened at the end.

Had Mabappé not tied it up, Drake would have won US$2.75 million. This six-figure loss pairs nicely with the US$2 million hit he took on taking former UFC champion Israel Adesanya over Alex Pereira last month.

Caught up in the current online betting craze and want some advice? Whatever Drake does, do something else.
