Drake had a good week. He had 42 of the 100 slots on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart
If you need any indication of why the Billboard Hot 100 chart doesn’t work anymore, just has to look at things this week. Thanks to the simultaneous release of three albums (ICEMAN, HABIBTI and MAID OF HONOUR) and the chart rules that weigh streaming very heavily, we ended up with the weirdest ranking in the history of billboard.
Drake occupied 42 of the top 100 slots. That’s not a typo. Forty of them were debut appearances.
He has songs at 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 15, 18, 19, 21, 22, 23, 28, 31, 34, 35, 36, and 39. That’s 24 out of 40.
He also has songs at 41, 42, 43, 56, 57, 61, 63, 67, 71, 72, 74, 76, 82, 85, 88, 92, and 93.
