Dublin lined the streets for Shane MacGowan’s funeral procession. Plus a couple of Shane’s favourite cocktail receipts (DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME!)

Shane MacGowan got a right Irish sendoff with his funeral procession as people lined the streets of Dublin to pay their final respects. At one point, the crowd broke into a rendition of The Pogues’ “Dirty Old Town.”

People are also reminiscing about Shane’s drinking ability. Popbitch reports that one of Shane’s favourite tipples was a “Black Zombie.” Keep in mind that this is all in one glass.

  • Two shots of gin
  • Two shots of vodka
  • Two shots of run
  • Two shots of tequlia
  • Two shots of pastis (the French liqueur)
  • A bottle of Coke poured over everything.

Shane also enjoyed what he called a “B’n’B.” That meant

  • Four shots of brandy
  • Four shots of Bailey’s
  • A one-pint chaser of Cinzano Bianco.
