WTF?

During a week that was already weird, Donald Trump uses a musical tweet to announce signing of a farm bill. Prepare to cringe.

It was not a good week for Donald Trump. His Secretary of Defence quits. The blowback against his sudden announcement of the withdrawal of troops from both Syria and Afghanistan. The tightening screws of the Mueller probe. The forced closing of his charity. The tanking of the US stock market. The government shutdown. His war with his own Department of Justice. The quiet lifting of sanctions against a Russian oligarch who had ties with Paul Manafort.

Have I missed anything? Probably, because it’s so damn hard to keep track of all the crises and chaos.

Somehow, though, the business of government grinds on. A bill authorizing financial assistance for American farmers was signed this week. However, Trump heralded the news with a tweet featuring this video of him singing the Green Acres theme.

Before you click, prepare to cringe. This is the President of the United States. This man has the nuclear codes.

If you’re all WTF now, that video is taken from Trump’s appearance on the 2005 Emmy Awards with actress Megan Mullally, best known for her work on Will & Grace.

She, by the way, remains mortified that she ever agreed to appear in that skit.
