In-Ear Monitor Company Offers Hope for Brian Johnson’s Hearing

Brian Johnson’s ears are in such rough shape that Axl Rose had to be drafted in as his temporary replacement in AC/DC. Doctors had told them that he risked going completely deaf if finished the rest of the current tour.

(For the record, Brian says it wasn’t loud music that made him nearly deaf; it was his love of fast cars.)

So what can be done to save Brian’s hearing? Asius Technologies, a company at the forefront of in-ear monitors for musicians, says they might have something that will allow Brian to perform again. They met this week to talk about things,

  • Ha! Leads one of the loudest rock bands ever for longer than I’ve been alive – probably the majority of which were without using any hearing protection or IEMs – but swears that’s not the cause of his hearing loss… wow.

    A comparison of rock stars vs. auto racers on the subject of hearing loss would debunk that pretty quick. I’m sure the loud cars didn’t help, but hearing loss is cumulative – it all just adds up.

    Good luck to him though and hopefully this will help. For the love of god, no one needs more Axl Rose.
