Eddie Vedder just released a single from what will be his first solo album in a decade

Ten years have passed since Eddie Vedder released his last solo album, Ukelele Songs. Now, though, we have “Long Way,” the first single from a solo record entitled Earthling. Damn, if this doesn’t sound a little like something Tom Petty might have done.

There’s no release date for Earthling yet, but you can pre-order a 7-inch limited edition of “Long Way” which comes with another new song, “The Haves,” on the B-side. And you might remember the song being featured on the Flag Day soundtrack, the Sean Penn movie, although it was performed by Eddie’s daughter, Olivia.
