Eddie Vedder tells the story of his most famous stage dive–and one that almost killed him.

Back in the early days of Pearl Jam, Eddie Vedder was fearless–foolishly so, in fact. He’d climb scaffolding and speaker stacks and often throw himself to the mercy of the crowd.

His most famous dive came at the Pinkpop Festival in The Netherlands in 1992. Here’s how he remembers it. (Thanks to Moe for the link.)

  • How amazing!!! Great work in finding this story! If I remember correctly, it looked like he injured his rib cage after getting back on stage. I can’t believe he found the guy. Super cool!
