Eminem’s Boyhood (And Album Cover Artwork) Home Torn Down

If you’re a fan, you’ll know the house I’m talking about.  It appears on the cover of both The Marshall Manners LP (2000) and this year’s The Marshall Mathers LP 2.  It’s not much to look at.

The house, a 747 square-foot, one-and-half bath brick structure built in 1945 had been vacant for years. The current owner tried to sell it on eBay earlier this year hoping to get the appraised value of about $32,000.

But earlier this month, there was a fire.  That made it structurally unsafe so this week, it was torn down.

  • I'm surprised that Marshall couldn't come up with the cash, but I guess once you're a millionaire, you don't need to be reminded of where you came from. That whole area is largely abandoned. No jobs. No people.
