Every Member of a British Indie Band Killed in a Car Crash (And Three Members of a US Band Die in Another)
All four members of Viola Beach, an indie band based out of Warrington in the UK, were killed along with their manager in a horrific road accident in Sweden Sunday morning.
The band had just played the Where’s the Music? festival. At around 2:30 am local time on Saturday morning (February 13), they were driving along a highway called the E4 southwest of Stockholm when something went terribly wrong. As the car approached the Södertälje canal, the bridge was being raised to allow a vessel sail through. The E4 was closed, barriers were down and warning lights were flashing. For reasons unknown, the car drove right through the barriers and then plunged 80 feet off the bridge into the canal below.
All the occupants of the car were identified by their passports once divers managed to recover the bodies. Dead are singer and guitarist Kris Leonard, guitarist River Reeves, bass player Tomas Lowe and drummer Jack Dakin. Also killed was manager Craig Tarry. The men were between the ages of 19 and 35.

Meanwhile, three members of CounterFlux, a hard rock band out of Ohio, were killed in a car crash on the weekend. Their SUIV was hit by another car who was traveling the wrong way down I-75 through Dayton. The driver of that other vehicle, a 61 year-old man, was also killed. More at The Music.com.au.
Horrible news…may they rest in peace in rock and roll heaven
