Ex-Kraftwerk Man Karl Bartos Releases New Solo Album

Karl is a nice man.  Serious, but nice.  I met him a couple of years ago at the By:Larm Muisc Festival in Oslo where he offered up a couple of inciteful presentations about Kraftwerk and the history of electronica.

He’s no longer wtih Kraftwerk–he left in 1990–but has worked in field of electronic music releasing albums regularly with a group called Electric Music, as a solo artist and one album with Bernard Sumner and Johnny Marr in Electronic.

His new record is called Off the Record.  Learn more about it here while you sample the track below.

  • The music is a perfect match for its subject. ATOMIUM is a steel-clad futuristic architecture / sculpture like something out of the Jetsons. As seen in his video – Atomium was a left over from the Brussel's world fair (1958).
