Extreme Metal Bands Scatter Fan’s Ashes Onstage

Don’t be like Prince. Make sure you draw up a will. Otherwise you’ll never be able to do cool(?) things like this.

Nick–no last name–was a massive fan of extreme metal, especially the bands Behemoth and Dying Fetus. After he passed, a portion of Nick’s ashes was entrusted to his friend, David Rich, who took them every gig he went to so Nick could be there in spirit.

On April 29, David took Nick to a Behemoth/Dying Fetus show in Chicago on April 29. His request was simple. Could his ashes be scattered during the show?

Absolutely.

Nick’s favourite Dying Fetus song was “Homicidal Revolution.” Behemoth scattered the ashes in the pit ahead of their song, “Antichristian Phenomenon.”
