Facebook is Planning a Music Play. But What Will It Be?

There’s a new job posting at Facebook. The company is looking for a Director of Global Music Licensing. Interesting.

The job involves “lead[ing] Facebook’s strategy and negotiations with music labels and publishing/performing rights organizations, as well as collaborate with our product and media partnerships teams to ensure a coordinated and best-in-class licensing structure.”

It goes on to state that the successful candidate will have more than a decade’s worth of experience and “a proven track record of leadership and hands-on deal experience in music licensing for global organizations” and will “‘represent Facebook in meetings with music industry executives from other companies globally.”

Interesting. Whatever to they have in mind? View the whole posting here.
