Music News

Fan voting for The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ends today.

If I’m honest, the only reason I’m including this story today is because it’s an extremely slow news day. Yeah, the Pope died after meeting with JD Vance–gee, JD, did he not say “Thank you” enough?–but I haven’t been able to find a music angle to that story. Yet.

So in lieu of anything else, I’m going to post the fan voting numbers for this year’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Remember that whoever wins this poll will deliver that artist one (1) vote to be added into the thousand or so votes by RRHoF members. That means it’s largely a useless exercise, but what the hell. I told you: It’s a slow news day.

No matter what happens today, the standings will probably end up like this. Can we at least push Oasis to 100,000 votes? And the lack of respect for Joy Division + New Order is astounding.

  1. Phish (326,030)
  2. Bad Company (277,799)
  3. Billy Idol (257,748)
  4. Cyndi Lauper (234,532)
  5. Joe Cocker (231,083)
  6. Soundgarden (230,707)
  7. Chubby Checker (200,976)
  8. The Black Crowes (163,719)
  9. Mariah Carey (136,972)
  10. Joy Division + New Order (118,864)
  11. The White Stripes (109,501)
  12. Outkast (106,896)
  13. Oasis (98,510)
  14. Maná (34,260)
