All-Female Hasidic Metal Band Plays Woman-Only Gigs

They call themselves Bulletproof Stockings, which is the first and only all-female Hasidic metal band to emerge out of New York.  Or anywhere, for that matter.

Bulletproof Stockings

If you’re familiar with the Hasidic branch of Judaism, you’ll know that there’s firm rules about gender segregation.  No men and women freely mixing in social situations. And various female body parts must be covered, even to the point where they wear wigs.

In a completely fair bit of turnabout, Bulletproof Stockings plays gigs to all-female audiences. It’s the only way they can rock out.

Metal Injection reports on Bulletproof stockings here.  Have a listen below. And if you’re a dude, this is as close as you’ll get to seeing them at a gig.
