First Court Appearance Today in Radiohead Stage Collapse Calamity

It was a year ago when the scaffolding above a stage constructed for a Radiohead show at Downsview Park in Toronto suddenly fell down, killking the band’s drum tech.  Three other people were injured.

Live Nation Canada, Live Nation Ontario and Optex Staging have each been charged with four counts of failing to ensure the structure was being properly and safely built.  An engineer faces a charge of endangering a worker.  They all make their first court appearances today.

I’ve heard some chilling off-the-record accusations that I obviously can’t talk about.  But if these stories are true…wow.  This will take a while to sort out.
