“First, We Dance!” Gang Warfare, Gangnam Style

Try to imagine this happening in your hood.  Two rival gangs meet in some kind of summit to talk about…something.  The first thing they do?  Hold a “Gangnam Style” horsey dance dance-off in some kind of competition for territorial superiority.  When that doesn’t work, the guns come out.

This is exactly what happened in Bangkok recently.

The Guardian, quoting a translation from the INN website, reports

“[T]he younger members of both groups danced provocatively at each other in the manner of top hit Gangnam Style”. The dance-off escalated into an argument and, eventually, a gun attack in the upmarket Ekkamai neighbourhood, in which one of the gangs fired at least 50 bullets from a carbine and an 11mm gun.

The good news is that no one was injured.

Then we have this:  the Ohio State Marching Band doing their “Gangnam Style” thing.  Hey, it’s football season.  It was bound to happen.

And still with “Gangnam Style” news, the original clip has now passed “Call Me Maybe” as the most-watched YouTube clips of 2012.
