Flashback: Merv Griffin Used to Have Some Weird Musical Guests

Some were actually okay. I remember seeing the Boomtown Rats perform “I Don’t Like Mondays” on the show.

But then Merv would have guys like Thor on the show. From what I can tell, this is the same Canadian guy who later had a rock radio hit with “Keep the Dogs Away” in 1977. Here he is singing of a cover of a song by The Sweet;
