Foo Fighters’ Demos Leaked!

They call them the “million dollar demos,” recordings made in 2001 as a test-run for their One By One album, a record that had a long and difficult birth process.  Fans will remember that Dave and the crew gave up for a while. Dave cleared his head by recording and touring with Queens of the Stone Age.

These tracks–recorded at a cost of a million bucks, hence their name–have never seen the light of day. Most are still locked away somehow, but two songs–alternate versions of “Have It All” and “Come Back” have escaped into the wild.

  • Wow!!! I think I like them more, raw and "from the guts" sound. Nice.

  • Thankfully they reworked "Come Back"! The released version is so much heavier and moodier. It's one of my all time favourite Foo's songs. In this case the demo was just a starting point thankfully, and not the finished product!

  • I wonder where I got my copies then that I've had for quite some time? BSide collection maybe?
