Former Megadeth Drummer Collapses Onstage and Dies

It started as another gig for Nick Menza, the former Megadeth drummer, who was now holding down the rhythm for a group called OHM. Three songs into their set at a venue called The Baked Potato in Studio City, California, Nick collapsed.

At first, it seemed to be some kind of seizure. Nick quickly stopped breathing and two people in the crowd started administering CPR while an ambulance was called. When EMS arrived, they worked on Nick for a full 25 minutes–adrenaline shots, at least three AED shocks and more chest compressions.

Nothing could be done. Nick was pronounced dead. Metal fans are in shock.

Damn you, 2016. Here’s a list of all those we’ve lost in the last six months.
