FREE Electronic Music Workshops Just for Young Women

Brian from C0ndu1t (and the guy who helps me with issues in my home studio–he also does work for Deadmau5, too) let me know about In The Loop, a series of free workshops coming up in Hamilton, Ontario, next month.

Organized by Christina Sealy, In the Loop is designed with young women (ages 14-18) in mind.  Here’s the plan:

Week 1 (October 6):  Digital Recording:  Getting Started,  An introduction to Ableton Live

Week 2 (October 13):  Analog and digital processing.  Learn how to manipulate your recorded audio.

Week 3 (October 20): The basis of synthesis.  Understanding the fundamentals of sound design.

Week 4 (October 30): Composition:  Putting it all together.  Create an original soundtrack.

Classes take place at CoBALT Connects, 2 King Street West in Hamilton.  Oh–and did I mention that all these 2.5 hour workshops are free?
