French Catholics Prayers vs. Hellfest

Just like the South Koreans and Indonesians who invoked the Almighty to protect them from Lady Gaga earlier this year (the Koreans prayers went unanswered; Jakarta was more successul), French Catholics were hoping to God that something would smite a group scheduled to play an event called Hellfest.

Sunn O))), the doom-drone band, was accused by these fine French folks of presiding over a “black mass” which involved praising the name of everyone from Satan to Hitler.  Here is their anti-Sunn 0))) prayer:

“Holy Archangel Michael, defend us in this struggle; be our relief against the demon’s malice and traps. We implore you: may God show him his empire. And you, Prince of the celestial militia, drive back to hell, by divine force, Satan and the other evil spirits that prowl the world searching for souls to corrupt. Amen.”

Didn’t work.  The gig went off without any issues–that any mortal could see, anyway.

Unfamiliar with Sunn 0)))?  Check this out.  Just make sure there aren’t any pets in the room.
