If you’re still with me, that’s Olga Podluzhnaya performing the traditional music of the Yakutia, who live in northeast Siberia. The song is called “Sounds of Nature.” And she’s not playing a Jew’s harp, exactly. It’s called a khomus or a vargan and is a traditional instrument for the native people of Mongolia, Siberia and Altai.

It’s less weird when you understand it, right?
