From the Dept. of No Surprise: Most Rock Artists Support Obama, Hate Romney

I don’t think it’s much of a generalization to say that most musicians hold liberal views when it comes to politics.  There are some conservatives out there (Johnny Ramone was a hardcore Reagan fan) but they’re far outnumbered.

(There may be many more but a rock musician who comes out in favour of a conservative politician is usually committing career suicide.  They tend to stay quiet.)

With the US election just two weeks away, it’s instructive to look at how things have lined up in the world of Obama vs. Romney.

Endorsing Obama:  Bruce Springsteen, Mick Jagger, Foo Figthers, Dave Matthews, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tom Morello, Silversun Pickups, Grimes and Divine Fits.

Endorsing Romney:  Kid Rock, Nickelback, 3 Doors Down.

Draw your own conclusions.  And if you want to go deeper on the subject, try this article from The Daily Beast.

Meanwhile NOFX’s Fat Mike has given up on encouraging kids to come out and vote.

  • There's a Nickelback joke here somewhere. Just not sure what it is.

  • You forgot The Killers in the Romney camp. Those Mormons stick together. Also, wasn't aware that Nickelback could vote in the US?
