Future Islands’ New Video Has Been Released in American Sign Language

There’s something weirdly hypnotic about Baltimore’s Future Islands. Is it Samuel Herring’s vocal style? Gerrit Welmers keyboard programming? Whatever the case, I get sucked in by what these guys do.

In the new video for the song “Cave”–the second single from their upcoming album, The Far Field–the band uses the sign language interpreter for New York City mayor Bill de Blasio to sign along with the lyrics. It’s pretty cool, really.
