Fyre Festival II is coming and there are plenty of ways for dumb rich people to spend their money

Convicted felon and fraudster Billy McFarland is trying again. After ripping off thousands of people with the original Fyre Festival in the Bahamas (he was fined and jailed, and two documentaries were made on the disaster), he’s determined to mount Fyre Festival II. That’s rich, given that Fyre Festival I didn’t really happen.

This event is set to happen May 20 to June 2 on Isla Mujeres, an island off the coast of Cancun. The website is now live. Tickets? They start at US$1,400 and go all the way to–wait for it–US$1.1 million.

McFarland: “FYRE 2 really isn’t about the past, and it’s not really about me. It’s about taking the vision, which is strong.” Uh-huh.

What will one supposedly get for a million US bucks? The “Prometheus Package” offers the following according to McFarland.

“You will be on a boat and have the luxury yachts that we partner with, which will be docked and parked outside the island. Fyre is not just about this, like, luxury experience. It’s about the adventure. So you’ll be scuba diving with me. You’ll be bouncing around to other islands and other countries on small planes.”

And who’s playing the festival? Er, we don’t know. No lineup has been announced yet. What other activities/facilities will be available? We don’t know that, either. All you can do at the website is plug in your credit card.

However, McFarland says that it’s “real.” If you believe that and you’re willing to spend this kind of money, you might want to seek some kind of evaluation.
