Gee, what a surprise. Kanye misses the Donda 2 release date

Yesterday (February 22) was the day Kanye was supposed to drop his Donda 2 album. In preparation, he sold over US$2 million worth of his Stem player (a $200 piece of hardware required to listen to the album; it won’t be released any other way). Ye has lost a potential US$8.6 million through his “liberation from streaming.”

The scheduled listening party at LoanDepot Park in Miami did go ahead as scheduled. Fans both in the stadium and watching the livestream did get to hear tracks from Donda 2. There was also a live portion that featured an appearance by Alicia Keys and, er, Marilyn Manson.

Still, no album is available today. Are we surprised?

Here’s what happened in Miami. Got four hours?
